Neal's Coffee Shop's San Mateo location was opened in 2001 after the success of the Burlingame location persuaded the owners to expand. We serve delicious old-fashioned style food and strive to provide the best experience possible. We feature an open kitchen design so that patrons can see just how dedicated we are to creating a clean and welcoming environment.
We strive to provide a wide range of the best and tastiest food in all of San Mateo. We have a popular Healthy Choices menu that includes a Turkey Scramble that is out of this world! At Neal's, nothing is frozen, which means you'll be getting the freshest ingredients possible. All our pasta and chowder are made from scratch.
Neal started working at the restaurant in 1987 and eventually worked with partners to take over the business. He is very humble and loves seeing happy customers each day.
I love this place. I come here multiple times a week for breakfast and lunch. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming! That's why we keep coming back here. They have outdoor and indoor seating currently.
This is your classic neighborhood greasy spoon diner. Pre-pandemic this place was always packed with regulars enjoying their hot coffee and enjoying breakfast classics. During the pandemic, they are open for take out and the food is just as good.
Got a great breakfast! I had a chicken omelet which is wonderful because I don't eat pork and breakfast can be tricky. I also was able to get mine gluten-free (skip toast and pancake option)...
My boyfriend and I came here on Saturday morning, expecting to have a wait. There was no wait, the waitresses were very kind with big smiles.. very welcoming. We had coffee, which was nice and hot. Very good coffee too...
Amazing. We love this place. Everything we have had has been top notch. We are now regulars and often look forward to the next trip to Neil's. The service is always friendly and welcoming. Even when they are slammed.
